One UI 8 ruined the customization of Galaxy platform and Good lock

If you enjoyed the customization of the Galaxy platform and Goodlock, prepared to have it ruined by the new and "improved" UI update. I've had Android and Galaxy devices for years because of the customization. And now the engineers forget that important fact about it's customers everytime they sacrifice a customization feature for AI that people don't use.

The gallery widget can no longer have transparent backgrounds. No matter what option you choose you png with a transparent background gets a white one. Ruined my whole home screen.

You cant use sticker if you use the home screen only mode, that is my case and problably many other. There is literally no point in remove this function that worked way fine in previous updates.

But you can create a custom wallpaper with the .png embedded in it.  Take your wallpaper and screen shot it, then edit the photo to add your image and then save the created image to your gallery and set it as your wallpaper for your home screen.  There is this neat little editing feature where you can long press an object from one photo and copy it onto another.   I have done that with my home screen wallpaper, as the wallpaper I selected needed a  little something, so I added it.  The black heart is the addition.

As far as I can tell, the gallery widgets have no background.  The widget is filled with the image or albums you select. Please provide a screenshot.

As you can see this image is an png with a transparent background. On the homescreen in the gallery widget it has white background

Wow, i didn't know this was a thing, i get what you mean, is a little sad for sure, samsung is been taking some bad decisions lately, for example this software took so long and they didn't improve anything really, im a little disappointed too

It's not a decision of Samsung.  It is the image itself.  If the OP was using GoodLock to tinker with this image, they must wait for GoodLock to be updated.  GoodLock and the OS updates do not happen simultaneously.

I didn't use GL to tinker with the image. It's a png with a transparent background. GL is used to adjust the placement of the native Samsung gallery widget on the homescreen. I think in your attempt to paint me as someone who doesn't know what they're doing you're missing important information

Right now, it looks to me that the background of the PNG is white.  If you had a .jpg, the whole image would fill the widget.  Images do not have backgrounds of their own, but cartoon imagery does.

A png with no background, eg just the figure itself, has a white (no background). If you were using an actual photograph, or you edited your cartoon onto your wallpaper or other background, it would not be an issue.
