Does anyone know how to mute sounds on my phone if I'm wearing ear buds and hearing the sounds through the buds? I'm pretty sure I used to have this setting but now I'm hearing sounds from both!

Download Good Lock's sound assistant.  Then open it and go to advanced settings.  You will see "alerts through headphones" tap that and turn all the sliders off.

If the sounds on your phone you are referring to are any audio not from the current app you are using, the you could turn on your phone's do-not-disturb (it matters not if you're using earbuds or not).

If you are referring to notifications from a particular app, you could turn off notifications for that app, then turn it back on after you're done with what you were doing.

(...) that particular notification, you could click-hold any of the notification buttons at the bottom until you see a red bell icon with a slash through it, (...Update: One UI 8 update has changed this to open the notifications settings for that app.)

I'm referring to all notifications, could be any app, it never happened with my s25ultra, if I'm wearing buds I just want to hear sounds in my ears not my phone and ears at the same time

Like I mentioned before, do-not-disturb will silence any alert, calls and notification except the audio you started yourself.

But then I have to always turn it on or off, I never had to before, if I was wearing the buds the sounds shifted to the buds and the versa

Sounds shifting to a different output has nothing to do with notifications.

In terms of audio output, there is no option specifically to set all or a certain notification audio to a different device that I know of. However, if it's audio of a specific app to a different device, that is possible.

Go to your phone's Settings > Sounds and vibration > Separate app sound. The first setting option is to turn this feature on or off. The second setting allows you to select which apps you want to pipe their audio to a different output. The third setting is to specify which device will receive the selected app audios (only previous connected/paired devices will be listed here).

I don't know how this feature settings work beyond a phone and earbuds as I never used this feature and I don't have any other devices besides my earbuds. So for now, I can only assume that you can divert specified audio only to one other device at a time.

I just re read what you wrote. If you want the sound *in* your bids, turn the sliders on. If you want them on your phone, but not the buds, turn them off. Either way, sound assistant would be your app.
