Its been almost a month I purchased my S25 Ultra. I transferred everything form my S21. Upon setting notification sound - I am facing issues
1. The Whatsapp groups which are set silent on the app itself, Still plays the notification sound when my phone is on General mode
2. I can not find setting to change notification sound for each app to be different.
3. Why is my phone not adapting the setting from Whatsapp where the groups are already silent?

From what I've seen on here, the notification sounds (especially the app supplied sounds) are a big issue on this phone.  I think it's an issue that will be addressed in an update.

In the meantime, in order to enable different sounds for different apps, you need to have notification categories enabled.  Unless they changed the way it works in OneUI7 (which I do not have yet), go to settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for each app and turn it on.  But, I'm seeing that many people, even with the categories turned on, are having an issue with the sounds only still keeping whatever sound they set as the default notification sound for all apps.  I do not know how widespread that problem is.

The directory you provided is indeed the same.  For myself, I have not experienced any of those issues.I would like to see what the percentage of those who do experience them are getting that   used the back ups from like Google or Samsung or using Smart Switch. I am not saying those are bad ideas, but this is a whole new OS, chipset, etc.

I used neither, I simply used a C to C connection to transfer all of my settings, contacts, everything and it worked great. The only thing I needed to do was to login to certain apps again because, well it's  new device. Also, I did all of that before having my device change with my mobile provide while I was connected to my WiFi. I did that form my S21 to 22 and was perfect as well 3 years ago.

I think maybe some of them didn't turn on the categories. That, to my knowledge, would be the only way one would get the default notification sound for their apps, since the only way you can change the notification sound for the apps is with the categories enabled. For some reason, known, only to Samsung, this setting is not only off by default, even if you turn it on, it reverts to off with UI updates. It's usually the first thing I check after an update - that, and the sounds I chose for contacts, as those have been known to be removed as well.

I do not use it, but I will try and help. Please note that any issue with WhatsApp is not a Samsung problem if that problem only exist within WhatsApp and no other app.

Anyway open Settings (the gear whee icon on your home screen or in the quick panel pull down) and then scroll down to "Apps". Open that then select WhatsApp (for example), choose notifications then the "Notification categories". You will see different notification settings and If on WhatsApp it shows a sound that will play under any category, click on that and choose what is best. If groups is shown there, it may have a sound active by default, change it silent and do not close that screen. When changing any sound, do not close the screen, hit the back button at the top right then it can be closed. See if that works.

Now as far as setting notifications for different apps, do the same processes by selecting another app in settings/apps.
