Howdy!

Received my new S25 Ultra yesterday, set it up via SmartSwitch. Everything transferred correctly but none of my notifications are working.

Zero.

I have gone though forum postings that other people have posted looking for solutions and most of those has been DND or a routine turned on blocking notifications.

Things I've checked:

  • Do Not Disturb is TURNED OFF.
  • No Modes or Routines are running (there aren't any setup).
  • Sound is on.
  • Vibrate is on.
  • No icons or app badges show up on the top.
  • The apps that I am testing with I have confirmed that notifications are turned on.
  • All the options are selected for the notification options (Lock Screen, App icon badge, Notification pop-up).
  • This happens if the phone is sleeping or awake.
  • My old phone is still using Wi-Fi and notifications work fine on that one (other than messages and phone cause that's tied to the SIM). Turning off the old phone and waiting a few minutes and trying on the new phone, same thing happens.
  • If I open the offending app, I can see the unread messages.
Other than wiping the phone, skipping the SmartSwitch and starting from scratch, I am not sure how to move forward.

Thanks.

Hey, how does this phones notifications come out of the box? Does it pop up with the persons name when a text message comes or does it just say "messages." Im talking before you even mess with the settings at all, right out if the box as default how do the messages

Nuts. Gmail notifications have stopped for me as well. That's a critical one.

Dang. Just installed the latest Android update from Samsung and things have got worse.

Was on to samsung support. I cleared data for gmail and signed back in. Didn't work, still not getting notifications. They suggested wiping the Android cache partition. Haven't tried that quite yet.

I'm almost thinking of wiping and starting again with no smartswitch, but I see it didn't work for the OP and it's alot to do manually.

Just chiming in to say I have the same issue. Feel like upgrading to the S25 was pointless. Samsung are taking no notice of this it seems.

No calendar notifications no matter what i do. This phone is a mess.

Yeah, this thing is a disaster. They're not letting me return it either. Old device is still getting notifications.

I honestly don't know. I was on support calls with Vodafone and samsung last night. Both asked me to go to Settings | apps and hit Reset App settings.

I was wary but did it. It turned off notifications for all apps. Had to go into each app in setting and re-enable them which was a right pain because the list is long. Things do seem a bit better but still not getting alot of push notifications. E.g. no reddit or x notifications.

Go to Setting > Apps > 3 dots on top right > Special Access > Full Screen alerts. Enable for Whatsapp.

I also have a problem where I'll have notifactions from Discord already in my notification panel, then I'll get a new notifaction. It'll make a sound. I'll look for it at the top, but it's already grouped down to the older ones.

I had a similar problem with an A16. In my case I was getting notification sounds all the time, but no notifications were visible. The notification sounds appeared to me to be random. I had used SmartSwitch to transfer apps data from an iPhone.

The solution was to reset all app settings. There's an option to do this on the phone and I presume that your model should have it too.

The solution was immediate. The downside is that I had to go through my apps one by one and change the notification settings the way that I like them to be. It was a bit of a hassle, but it was worth it!
