Main camera doesn't work with 3rd party apps

This is déjà vu. The S25 Ultra has the same main camera problem with third-party apps as the S24 Ultra used to have.

For example, when shooting RAW:

- MotionCam Pro displays a blank screen and then gives an error.

- ProShot shows the live image but generates a scrambled image, similar to what the S24 Ultra used to do. See attached.

S24U actually has this again since the November update on the 3x, waiting for the UI7 update to have this fixed again.

How do we compare if they finally fixed native RAW support now? Guess we can still compare against the jpg.

But seems Samsung is offering some variance in colors.

I take this back. Somehow ProShot began to work. Maybe a reset?

Also MotionCam Pro works when the resolution setting is changed from RAW10 to RAW_Sensor.

How is the native raw? Any improvements?

Too soon to tell. But I can see that in Pro mode the file is 44.7 MB (4000 x 3000). Despite its large size, it shows JPEG compression, but it is probably lossless JPEG compression. It is still demosaiced (linear RAW).
ProShot generates mosaiced uncompressed 25MB files (3060x4080)
MotionCam Pro also generates mosaiced RAW, using lossless JPEG compression (according to developers) 3060x4080

Expert RAW is using JPEGXL lossless or lossy comptession generating demosaiced, linear RAW files with 13.43Mb and 2.89MB respectively, for 3000×4000 resolution.

I wonder why in the native Pro Mode the file size is the greatest.

Because ProMode does not filter the noise, more detail less compression possible, while ExpertRAW already removes it by stacking, more homogenous areas, better compression.

Funny how the 3rd apps still grab the full 12,5 MP image while the native ones take the 12MP from the center.

What puzzles me is why the pureRAW mosaiced uncompressed ProShot file is only 25 MB, compared with the 44.7 MB in Pro mode.

I have the same issue with the camera on meet. Not just for meet but for other 3rd party apps too. Once screen locks during a video call you cannot the toggle the camera on or off.

Galaxy s25 ultra user

Previously owned S23Ultra and S24 Ultra.

This is a big disappointment. Debating whether i should return the phone as i didnt send my trade in device yet for this issue.
