Which S25 series device do you have and what kind of battery life are you getting?

If you have just updated recently, Galaxy phones have an adaptive battery feature that uses machine learning to optimize battery consumption based on your usage.

After a major software update, this feature resets and needs to relearn your usage patterns. You may notice diminished battery life for 7-14 days while this process takes place.

UI8 has been a dramatic improvement for my S24+, which is getting phenomenal battery life. I average 8hrs SOT on a single charge.

Did you follow the Best practice guide? https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871?src=Shar...

Are you using Good Guardians to optimize your device? https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.android.samsung.utilityapp

These things can really help if you haven't done them yet.

Been having serious battery drain ever since installing the January 2026 security patch on my Galaxy S25. I already did a full factory reset without restoring a backup, then updated again to the latest software — and I’m still having battery issues. On top of that, I’m noticing touchscreen problems and overall performance issues. Has anyone else experienced this after the update? Any fixes, settings to change, or suggestions that actually helped? Thanks.

When did you have the update?  Security updates are no different than OS updates, the battery will still need to relearn your usage patterns and it will still take about a week to 10 days to stabilize.  Each time you do a factory reset, you start the re-learning process over again.

What do you consider serious battery drain?  What do you consider serious may not be serious at all, just not what you are used to getting.  Going from 100% to 60% in three hours is serious drain.  Going from 100% to 80% in three hours is not.  Look at your battery usage stats and see if anything stands out in the top 3 apps as being abnormally high.  Tap those apps and look at the screen on time and background activity.
