Galaxy S25
Perhaps someone can share their thoughts or expertise on why Samsung would adopt PQ transfer over HLG transfer for video. Granted PQ will provide better viewing however it's limited mainly to OLED and HDR viewing. Whereas HLG is backwards compatible and better for editing and can be viewed properly on both HDR and SDR displays. PQ viewed on an SDR display can look either to dark or washed out, while HLG is able to provide proper brightness levels on both.

So just kinda baffled why Samsung wouldn't use HLG which honestly works better than PQ

Galaxy S25In short, Samsungās focus on premium HDR content might explain their preference for PQ, despite HLG being a better fit for broader content creation and compatibility across a range of devices.
