Has anyone experienced your group chat in the samsung messenger being splitted? Some messages stay in the original chat and the others go into a whole new chat?

Is it possible that the chats that are being broken off are participants side messaging you rather than responding to the group?  I do that sometimes if I only want to respond to a single person in a group chat.

Both sender and receiver must have RCS text messaging to send/receive group messages in Samsung Messages. If the receipt doesn't have RCS capabilities, then their response will be received as a regular SMS/MMS text message.

Not true for me.  I have had some in a group chat that do not have RCS enabled for whatever reason.  All their responses and new message are in the same chat.  My entire group, however, changes to SMS and it tells me "chat has switched to SMS because Mary Jones does not have RCS.  I imagine it would break off if one respondent didn't turn on "resend as SMS" on, but that has not happened so far.  When the laggards enabled RCS, the entire group chat became RCS, the historical SMS remained as SMS.

Yes, it is my understanding that both sender and receiver must have RCS, have RCS enabled, and their group messages setting set as a 'group chat' rather than being set as a 'broadcast' message for group chat to work properly.
