My fiance and I just recently upgraded our phones from the s22 ultra to the s25 ultra. She started noticing her messages app was acting strange. I found that it needed an update so I did just that. But some of the pictures that she gets through texts are blurry and have a save button in the middle of them. When she clicks on the picture, it wont load the picture and just shows a black screen. We are in group chat where the picture is fine on my phone. But hers it is blurry. So I dont believe its an issue with the sender and I am not seeing any differences in the settings between our phones. Any help would be appreciated.
I was running into this. You need to do a full rest on your messages app. Clear all cache and data uninstall and reinstall (if available) and open and set everything back up. This worked for me... Before that I just asked the sender to send again. It looks like the app isn't able to fully download the picture... It seemed to happen more when signal was weaker.
Blurry pictures in iPhone text messages could be due to the "Low-Quality Image Mode" setting. Go to Settings > Messages > Low Quality Image Mode and ensure it's turned off.
