I've had my Galaxy S25 for a few weeks now, and everything was working fine until this morning. Suddenly, I'm not getting any text message notificationsāno sound, no pop-up, nothing.
I've already tried:
Checking all notification settings
Clearing the Messages app cache
Restarting my phone.
Ensured Google Messages is Up-to-Date
Ensured no software update is needed
But nothing has worked. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
I have! I had to clear cache and data and reset all my settings again. Sorry I don't have more info other than if you see a grayed out mute icon next to the messages icon in messages settings, that's when it silences notifications. I don't know how to turn it on or off, but I realized whatever that setting is silences all texts.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't want to clear data for fear of losing my text messages. Its weird because sometimes notifications work and they dont. so strange
Had the same issue yesterday. The only thing I did was switch to the samsung messaging app, and made sure notifications were working, and they were. Then I switched back to the Google messaging app, tested it out, and notification sounds were working again. But now that samsung message app has rcs , might just stick with that.
Not sure if this is helpful, but I wasn't getting notification sounds and eventually realized that when going from my old phone to my new one they moved the sound slider and it was set to 0 it no longer showed the notification sound slider with the regular and System sound sliders, and since getting my phone I never had a reason to check because all the setting were ported over. The slider ended up being set to 0.
