Hello, did you happen to try restarting your phone? If it didn't work, then maybe there's something wrong with the connection to the cloud, restart your router, and if it still doesn't work, then reply to this message!

Google messages are backed up to Google. If you want to back up your messages for safekeepung, download SMS backup and restore from the Play store and set it to auto backup on whatever schedule you want. That way it's always available for restoration on any new phone.

Create a Google account for your device and use its backup features.

Settings/Accounts and backup/Manage accounts, then click on add account if you do not already have a Google account and create one. Then a Google drive choice should appear in the same directory under "Account and backup", click on the "Back up data" under Google drive and go from there.
