I have not heard of that, but the favorites bar can be expanded to 9 favs using the Home Up plug-in in Good Lock. Open Good Lock, then Home Up, then open home screen, then favorites max count.
If you do not have Good Lock, download it from the Galaxy Store to install it, then open choose Home Up to install the plug-in, then do the instructions.
