Hello, recently I've received a notification on my phone saying to sing in to continue using Samsung services but when i logged in i got a message saying that my account was deactivated due to inactivity which is weird since I've been using my phone for over a year. Once I reset my password and everything was ok online, i went onto to my phone in the settings app and was brought into the sign in page (not an internet webpage) and proceeded but got an error saying that the password should be 8 letters long, with numbers, etc. BUT i already did that. I see no option to sign in using my google account just a simple screen with the email and password entry but i cant sign in. I already reset my phone and still the same error.  Mind you i entered the password too many times it locked my account so something is not working with the settings app login.

Can you log in to your Samsung account from a web browser (account.samsung.com)? If that works, you'll know something's messed up with the account login on the phone.

Oh thank god for your response! I thought i was shooting a post into space. Yeah i can login just fine on the web, chrome and edge let login. I heard users saying to use edge but the problem still persists. One thing to note though is that at the initial start of this, I did reset my password through the phone within that said login screen and it 'worked' but throughout the day i noticed that my contacts and wallet were gone. I lost contacts and my card info, but my assumption or hypothesis is that since my account was on the process of deactivating everything is limbo at the moment which sucks cause i keep getting that stupid notification to login to use samsung services and i keep getting app crashes with samsung apps since it wants that login set.

Try to clear cache & data for the Samsung account app. Then try to log in again.

- Go to settings > apps
- Tap the 3 lines with the down arrow
- Toggle "show system apps" and tap OK
- Search for "account"
- Clear cache & data under "storage"1761151539280.jpg1761151539297.jpg

No dice, it did not work. I am starting to think that the system doesnt know that I have a password set up. On my tablet S9 i can see my account info but its asking me to set up a password and when I do its asking for my old password which it says its wrong. I may have to wipe and reset unfortunately I dont see this any other way possible. Would this clear this error?

Factory reset was going to be my next suggestion. You may want to contact customer support first. If you're getting the password prompt on your tablet, it sounds like the account credentials might be messed up. If they can reset your account, you can test the login on the tablet. You may or may not need to reset the phone.

Got it, understood. Is it possible you can send me the link to the website page for the contact support, I hate and keep ending up in the FAQ with the pre-made answers and no contact info. Thanks!

Sweet! Thank you again for the help! This is a big goof on Samsung's part. Don't know why i never got an email saying that my account would be disabled if not used. I'll see what I can do afterwards and update this Thread for future people having this issue.

You're welcome! I did see articles about potential account deactivation, but it wasn't widely publicized. Samsung allegedly sent emails to users whose accounts were in danger of being deactivated, but that clearly didn't happen in your case. Good luck getting it sorted!
