Remote unlocking still possible?

Hello everyone, I have the following problem: My girlfriend forgot her S25 device password while on vacation. Unfortunately, the second factor in Gmail is also this cell phone number so it doesn't get in there.

At home on a laptop it might still be possible to access a logged in Google account. Can you also access the Samsung Smart Things Find account via the Gmail account and use this to unlock the cell phone or do you need your own Samsung account for this?

Furthermore, is the Smart Things Find and Unlock function still possible and usually present during the cell phone setup process?

Thank you!

The Samsung remote unlock is no longer an offering because it has been found that workarounds have been used to bypass the security features and allow others to access the device without prior consent. The only avenue is to reset the device back to factory settings.

I don't understand how someone forgets a password they use on their device at least once every 72 hours, if not every single time they have to unlock their phone.  You can access Google Find on any device where you can open Google in a web browser.  However, as stated the remote unlock feature, or password reset is no longer an option (can't even figure out why someone would want to remote unlock a phone). Samsung find can only be accessed from another Samsung device.

So, the only option for your friend to unlock their phone would be to factory reset the phone, set it up with the same Google & Samsung accounts originally used, and then restore the latest backup from Samsung's cloud. The only data they will lose is personally created or downloaded files, but their settings, contacts, messages and apps will all be there.  They will  have to add new security information (fingerprints and password), as that is never saved in a backup.

It sounds more like you are trying to access your girlfriend's phone without her knowledge or consent, why else would you ask about "needing your own Samsung account", and why isn't she here asking the question? If she has a Samsung phone, she has her own account, and even if it was possible to use Samsung find on a computer, she would be able to log into her own Samsung account.  You cannot use Samsung Find (on any device) that is not logged into the same account the device is logged into.

I for sure did not forget my unlock pattern! others have had the same problem after an update and reboot or just randomly! I used my pattern for the last year and all of a sudden it's apparently wrong!!

I'm currently experiencing something called "memory interference." My son locked himself out of his own tablet, remembered his passcode and showed it to me. Once I saw his, I could no longer remember mine, just a few minutes later...on a device I opened a million times a day. So you don't have to believe that people can forget their passwords/codes...but there are many forums all over the Internet with people experiencing the same thing.
