Why is Samsung so behind in the dual Sim settings game? Why don't they let me select a default Sim for texting calling & data like literally every other phone manufacturer does?

I can select sim per contact for text/calls. I can also set default SIM for data as well. Not sure what issue you are having?

In every other phone, in the Sim manager, you can select a default Sim for data, default Sim for messaging, and a default Sim for calling. In other regions even Samsung has this options. But for the USA they remove it and only let you pick a Sim for all 3 in a single toggle.
Yes, you can do per contact, but so can every other phone. When I dial a number, I just want it to use my default without me thinking about it.

This is a big problem. I tried getting help from Samsung support. To their credit they said it should have separate settings for calls/data and data per SIM- per the manual.
Just cannot figure out why it is not available in the US.
iPhone allows you to do it.
Did you find any answers?

No, they have no explanation from when I've talked with them. I've given up on it. When I'm ready to move on, I'll move on from Samsung.

I noticed this issue back in July. However, now I see a new option that I did not see back then. With both eSIMs on, one of them preferred for everything, I can turn off roaming data for that eSIM. Then in Mobile Networks you can do Connect to data networks while roaming per eSIM. That just might do the trick, in a convoluted way. At least I didn't see this back in July.
