I haven't gotten mine yet but from what I've heard on several videos it is, hit the three dots, enable alphabetical and it changes to vertical

Unfortunately at least for now with Horizontal you would need to manually put in alphabetical order

Vertical is so much better, especially using the slider bar to go to the exact letter you want.

Got my pre-order on Thursday and it works fine for me. There's a sort order and you can do it alphabetically. It'll take some time to get used to but it's more consistent now with the way other things are scrolled and you can go right to the letter of the app

While getting used to the longer one page vertical sorting is going well, I still prefer having "pages" Who's bright idea was it to not allow custom sorting to be alphabetical? It is ridiculous that at this time you have to tap and move each app to your desired positions. If you have a lot of apps it just isn't feasible. Please add the ability to alphabetize custom sorting. Class dismissed!

Why don't you make folders so that you can put similar apps together? I have all my apps in folders on one page so I don't have to vertically or horizontally scroll for anything.

Hi there! I am not familiar on putting apps in folders. How do you go about putting six related apps in a single folder?

When you press, hold, and move an icon onto another icon, a folder is formed.  Subsequent apps can be added to the formed folder by either dragging the app into the folder or tapping the "+" on the upper right to add your app (the + is only available after the folder is formed), and you can name the folder.  You can then place the folders in the order you want. You should see two pre-formed folders at the very beginning of the apps array--Google & Samsung.  You can also create folders on your home screen so you can minimize the number of home screen  pages you have.

I'm with you, though, on allowing the alpha sort on the horizontal scroll. At the very least, if you alphabetize on the vertical scroll, it should keep the order if you switch to the horizontal scroll.
