The phone connect OK. I can see it in the Windows Control Panel.  But when I use the Browse Files function in Control Panel, it says there are no files, "Folder is Empty". In the past, I borrowed a cable from a friend and it worked OK. But he no longer has that cable.  From memory, I think that is has a C-USB on one end; the other end is an odd shape (not C).

Thanks for your help,
SweetTasha1

@SweetTasha1 swipe down your notification panel and you should see a notification that says USB set to charge tap it and change it to file transfer

I'm running on a PC, not a phone. Can you help me understand the action to take to see the notification you are referring to?

Thanks,

You connect your phone to the pc with the USB-C to USB-C cable or a USB-A to USB-C cable.
Swipe down your notification panel on your phone you should see a Notification that says USB for charge only tap it and change it to File transfer1768539386154.jpg1768539386164.jpg1768539386175.jpg

In addition to what @GaryB82 said, make sure auto blocker is off in the security settings.

Ok. I figured if it prevente transfer of fata via USB, it would also prevent seeing the data. I use wireless transfer.

I've replied to a couple of responses that I'm running on a PC , not on a phone. Now it's saying "correct the highlighted errors and try again."

You may be trying to access your phone through the PC, but you are still connected via a cable. In which case, you have to allow the file transfer theough the cable from the pulldown on the phone. The phone controls the protocol.

First, what is it you are trying to do - see files or transfer files?

What @GaryB82 is trying to convey is that the settings to make that folder content appear needs to be changed on the phone itself, else it will not be seen on the PC view at all, this cannot be done from the PC. When the phone is connected to the PC and while using the phone, it should show a status bar icon on the left side as a notification. Open that, click on its settings and change it to file transfer.
