Hello today noticed my Samsung clock widget does not keep accurate time. Not sure why, have restarted phone, same issue. Anyone have a solution?

If you have automatic date and time on in settings, the time is kept by your carrier's servers. You'd have to contact them to ask why the time is wrong. If you have your phone set to manual time, it is not unusual for differing clocks to keep time differently. It would depend on how far off the time is. If you are on manual time, make sure your time zone is correct. How do you know the clock you are comparing it to is correct? Your clock widget and the time in the status bar should be the same. If the click widget time differs from the status bar, clear the cache from the clock app. To quote Chicago, "does anybody really know what time it is?"

It does not seem like that's the issue. I'm gathering from their post that there is a problem with the widget not agreeing with the clock in the status bar.

The advice to clear cache is good. How to do that?

To clear the cache for your clock (or any other app), long press on the app and tap the "i" in the upper right corner of the menu that appears.

When the app info screen opens, go down the page and tap the word "storage".  Then tap the icon at the bottom of the screen that says "Clear cache".

Why is the clock on my status bar is always correct and the widget is set for automatic time. Still widget has never been correct only been using for a few days on a phone just over a month old. Seems I have a defective phone.

Widgets should get their time feed from the phone's clock.  Some widgets have a manual update and an automatic update option.  Which clock widget are you using?  Are you using the normal clock widget or the world clock widget? I already told you how to get the the app's cache.  Either long tap on the widget and tap the circled "i" to get to the app settings and scroll down to "storage", tap that and clear the cache and data, or go to settings/apps/clock/storage.  All lead to the same place.  Also, did you clear the phone cache?

So it is now 7:39 am an my clock says 1:33 pm with yesterday's date. The about in app sends me to Samsung cs. So I am thinking this is. A Samsung product.

Instructions do not take me to anything to clear cache. My phone clock is correct. Seems to be a Samsung problem.
How do I return this in exchange it for something that possibly works? I'm fed up with this piece of junk

Long press on your clock widget.  When the mini menu appears, tap on the small circled "i".  When the app info screen appears, scroll down to "storage", tap on that and then select "clear cache" on the bottom right. You can clear the data, as well, if you want.
