Not that i have seen. When casting it always asks for permission unless you specifically pair it to a TV by using smartcast or chromecast.
Using phone link on windows you have to accept permission.

see if you can get a list of running processes. find a way to see network traffic, this is something that solidified my suspicions. link to windows and several cloud related apps have swallowed my device and slowly (at first) changed all apps and the package/download manager to the point of no return. Dont wait and second guess yourself.
