With the the new Ui and Gemini having the power button long press mapped to Gemini has it advantages and disadvantages. For me the biggest advantage is in the camera app it has some amazing features, you can activate it and ask Gemini what is everything that it is seeing. That's good and helpful. What is not helpful is not having a dedicated power off menu. I don't like pulling down the shade or pressing volume down and power at the same time to access the power off menu. I found a very useful work around.

Go to settings, accessibility, interactions and dexterity. Assistant menu, in there you can turn on Assistant menu and turn on a whole bunch of things. The menu can pushed off to the side and become a handle that you press, in it I have just added power off and screen off. The screenshots I have provided are what it looks like. I have denoted where it sits and how it looks on the screen and what it looks like opened. You can size it, make it as close to transparent as possible.

We lose the power off button in OneUI7? Who designed this, apes? I really hope that's only in S series phones, because I neither want to be forced into using Gemini/assistant nor not be able to directly turn my phone off.

No, you can map for power. You lose the features that come with Gemini.

Good. I want nothing to do with Gemini. But, it's also dumb, what if one does not want to press the button for Hemini, but would rather access it another way. So Samsug is taking choices away and calling it an improvement?

I think this is on Google, that's how the stuff works on my Pixel too.

So it's an Android 15 "feature" designed to force people to use Gemini.

Yes, corner swipe to access the digital assistant no longer works.
