Any way to preview message notifications when your phone is locked?

Hey there!

Switching from lphone 15 Pro Max to Samsung S25 Ultra.

On the Iphone when you receive a message while your phone is locked

it wlill show the name and contact photo of the person that sent you the

message. Is there anyway to do this with Google Messages and other applications?

I know that you can enable non hidden message notifications that will show the name, contact picture, and message contents. I just don't want it to show the message contents. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a setting for that; I've been looking for the last week.

You can set the notifications on the lock screen to 'none', 'icons only', or 'details'.

Right. Doing this still hides the senders profile photo when my phone is locked. I have to unlock my phone in order to see it

darn, alright. Do you know of anyway to "expand" a notification th3 same way you can on Apple Devices? For example, if I get a notification on reddit that has a picture in it, on my phone I could just hold the notification and it would expand it making it easier to see the photo. I don't think such a feature exists on samsung. Do you know of anything similar?

I've never had an iPhone, so I have no concept of what you're talking about. Sorry.
