Hey Members,

YouTube Shorts - anyone know how to get rid of the Up ⬆️, Pause ️Down ⬇️ symbols in the center of 99.9% of every Short video on YouTube? In almost EVERY case it's annoying and blocks my view. Bad enough the Author adds in app kinds of type matter at the bottom and top.

I've been looking everywhere for a long time to rid these symbols. It's obvious by now that when I want to change to another Short I swipe up or down, and if I want to pause I can tap anywhere... Right?! Don't need constant reminders of how to do it. 😊

Anyone, can you offer a solution?

That would be a function of the YouTube programming and, therefore, you will have to petition Google.  Just because *you* know how to switch videos, does not mean that everyone does, so the controls are not there just to bug *you*.

I have never, in my life, ever, seen those before. But they look like they're there because it somehow thinks it's in mini mode, maybe? Like, if you're playing a short and press the home button, the shorts will shrink and be on your home screen. Maybe try that and see if it fixes it? If it doesn't, just clear your YouTube data.

Looks like it got stuck in landscape orientation for those two buttons. Weird

If the app thinks you are in landscape mode, try rotating your phone while the app is open and then closing the app, rotating it back, and then reopening the app.
