Hi;

I am trying to update / fix my profile card on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.  Somehow a new address has replaced my correct home address and a totally new address labelled "None" has been added (I have no idea how it got there) in the "Places" section of my profile card.  I've tried editing the "Places" section by clicking the edit pencil and then selecting the little gyroscope icon to recenter the map on my correct home address.  Every time i do this it puts the right address in, but when I go to save the correct info I get an error message that says "Couldn't connect to the server.  Check your network connection and try again."  I've tried a lot of the suggestions to fix whatever is wrong with my network connection that I find when when I do a search on the web.  My phone connects fine to our Wi-Fi connection though, so that's not an issue.  I've even been able to add another new address in the "Places" section though.  This one has me totally baffled and I was hoping someone in the community would know how to get my correct home address back in where it belongs and delete that random new address that suddenly appeared.

My cell phone carrier is Cogeco. They just started offering cell phone service about 1½ months ago. So that may explain the longer than normal wait times. They do have a call-back option, but they let you know before you choose it that a call-back will take 24 - 48 hrs. They do have a store here, sort of.  It also functions as the studio for their community TV station and dispatch / supply centre for the technicians who work for them here. I'd rather not have to deal with getting a new QR code so I can get my eSIM card setup again. With my previous phone I was told twice that it was compatible with their system. They sent me a SIM card. I couldn't get it to work using the self-install method. After spending 2 hrs on the phone with one of their cell phone setup specialists she couldn't get the phone to accept or program the SIM card. She said I should take the SIM card and phone to their location here, so one of the local reps could try to get it to work. After 2 hours with him he determined that my phone was bot compatible with their system. I sold my car about 2 yrs ago, due to not feeling safe driving after having another major mental health issue.  So I rely on my wife to drive me if need be. But she works 12 hr shifts 3 - 4 times a week. And due to the timing of her shifts we wouldn't be able to get to their store before she starts work or after she finishes work.

I received a reply from Samsung to my response email. I've copied it below. I've already tried the Update all apps / Reset network settings / Soft rest process with no luck. I've also tried using another device to update my locations. But the other locations don't appear in my account on another device. I'm going to keep trying suggestions I find on the web. If after a few days I still can't get it fixed I'll call the Samsung Live Chat Support as suggested by Samsung.  I'd like to thank you for the time and suggestions you have provided trying to get this problem resolved.

"We understand your concern regarding the eSIM on your Galaxy S24 Ultra, and we appreciate your diligence in seeking a solution without risking the loss of your eSIM data.
Please be assured that the steps we’re suggesting are safe and should not affect the information stored on your eSIM. Kindly try the following troubleshooting steps:
Update All Apps:

Keeping apps updated ensures compatibility and performance.

Reset Network Settings (This will not affect your eSIM):

Open Settings >> General management >> Reset >> Reset network settings >> Reset settings button.

Soft reset:
We shall perform a soft reset on your device and no data will be affected in this process. Here is the procedure to follow: press and hold power button and volume down button at the same time for at least 10-15 seconds to restart the device.

If the issue persists after trying the given steps, please log in to your Samsung account on a laptop or another device and try updating the location from there.

I'm wondering if anyone else has any suggestions that I can try to resolve this issue.

You can try booting into safe mode and trying to make the change within safe mode.  There may be some external app interfering with your effort to change things. Did you install any app just prior to finding this mysterious place on your profile card? The only other thing I can suggest, you are not going to want to do, and that would be to completely factory reset your phone and restore your backup.  This will not reset your SIM or mobile plan, as you can choose to reset with or without resetting your networks.

Hopefully, someone else will come up with other suggestions for you, but if you are not going to follow the suggestions of the developers, who read your logs, I don't know if either I, or anyone else, can give you options you find acceptable.

I booted my phone into safe mode and tried to do the changes there.  I had no luck, same results as before. I didn't install any apps prior to finding the mysterious place magically appearing on my profile card.

After all that you've suggested, as well as Samsung Support / developers and what I've been able to find on the web and not one suggestion working you'd be surprised what I'm willing to do to get to a successful conclusion.  I'm retired, so in the evening and night time I usually have time to spare.  I refuse to be defeated by a cell phone.  So I did a factory reset on the cell phone.  Now I've done factory resets on desktops, laptops and tablets before.  But the easiest and quickest factory reset was this cell phone.  In fact the factory reset was fairly quick.  What took the longest was uploading the backup of data and apps to a USB drive.  All I had to do after the factory reset was upload the backup to the phone and then update some apps, from the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store.

I tried all the suggestions offered by you and Samsung Support / developers.  I'm glad that no one suggested that I delete the eSIM card.  Once Samsung Support / developers realized I had an eSIM card and not a SIM card they offered suggestions that worked with that and didn't suggest deleting the SIM card.

I'd like to thank you and Samsung Support / developers for the time and suggestions that have been provided trying to get this problem resolved and eventually finding a solution that proved successful..
