I just acquired a Galaxy S24+. It seems that every time I turn on my screen, I have to enter my 6-digit code. How can I avoid this? Thanks!

Go to settings > lock screen and AOD > extend unlock. You can set your home address or any other location as a trusted place. This will cut down on how often you have to enter your PIN.

Just did this, setting my home as a trusted location. Seconds later I pushed the side button and the screen went dark. Immediately I touched the side button and I had to log in again. Si I don't think that fix worked.

You may need to allow a little more time than "immediately" to get a GPS fix on your location.

If you find that Extend Unlock doesn't work well for you (personally, I find it to be cranky), create a mode that keeps your phone unlocked under certain conditions. I've attached a screenshot of the one I set up. I have it turn on when the phone connects to my home WiFi.1759291850274.jpg

You have several options.  Use Extend unlock (I understand you were having an issue with this.  In addition to  your home address add your home wi-fi network for accuracy- Google maps does not know the area of your home), you can create a routine that does essentially the same thing (see pic below), you can use your fingerprint to unlock, that way you would only have to enter your PIN once every 72 hours or after a restart.  If you want to stay unlocked in your car, add your car to extend unlock as a trusted device.  You can also add the car's BT connection to the routine below (add a second trigger condition: BT device, and then select your car.  You can add any number of wi-fi networks and BT devices to keep your phone unlocked when connected. Be aware that both extend unlock and routines have the same restrictions.  Will keep your phone unlocked for up to 4 hours at a time (this is where the fingerprint comes in), and will require unlocking (by pin or fingerprint), after a missed notification or phone call (for security), and require entering your PIN every 72 hours or after a restart.  You should always have at least two methods of unlocking your phone anyway, in case one fails.
