Since the latest system ui update my phone chimes 3-4 times in the middle night with no visible notification.  When I look at notification history there are hundreds from System UI.  I have do not disturb on, I have all notifications silenced that can be.  I cannot silence my phone because I need to receive text and calls.  No matter what I do I cannot silence these notifiations.  Almost all the options to stop system ui notifications are greyed out and it has permission to override my do not disturb and it is also greyed out.  Any help would be appreciated.

I don't get sounds, it may register with the system as an notification because if you pull down the notification shade, you will see the time change on the notification, but they are silent - they system registers them as notifications, though. I get nothing out loud except if for some reason the charging cable is loose and the charger connects and reconnects.  And, the first two screen shots are my notification history in the normal settings.  The third shot with with Nice Catch, they don't show up as sounds at all.  So, download nice catch, and see what's really causing the sound.

Here's the way it works.  The notification history in the settings shows you every notification, silent or out loud, the system sends to the phone.  Some of these "notifications" you never see or hear, they are just part of the system.  Just because the notifications appear in the history, does not mean that is what is making the sound.  It really could be a third party app that is not showing up in the notification history.  The only way to tell for sure is to use Nice Catch, as that captures the apps that are sending an actual sound.  The "system UI" never shows up in nice catch, because those are normally silent notifications.

Good Lock is Samsung's customization suite of apps.  It is official Samsung software.

Nice Catch showed me my problem immediately! Turned out I had an app using an Alarm to notify me that my battery was fully charged - alarm was overriding DND. Happened at the exact time System UI silently notified me of the same thing, hence why I was blaming System UI. What a brilliant diagnosis tool Nice Catch is 😊

Thank you for that, I found it immediately. There were 2 apps that somehow had reminders turned on. The phone and a game. Every time the game sent a notification that it was my turn (and I have 11 games going with different people) it would remind me every 11 minutes. (Why 11 and not 10 or 15? But that's besides the point)

I figured out where to go to turn that off and have been blessed with silence ever since. In doing that I remembered I could also have notifications come in silently. I get notifications for stuff that I want to see when I get around to it, but don't need to be interrupted by hearing them come in so I switched a bunch of those to silent as well.

I love the Good Lock app. I use a lot of the modules. I just didn't realize that one would be helpful.

Glad it helped you.  Most people don't think a particular module will be useful to them - until it is.
