Seems like since the last update, I'm deluged with popup ads on my Samsung S24. I have gone through all the steps to block popups but none have worked. Some say that they are part of "Chrome", others say they are part of ATT, neither is found. Anyone else??
No one of this steps helped me! After updating to ui8 ads poping up after every notification. Turned off all notifications for the all aps, except call and message. Still ads poping up after message notice! ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ
After update to one ui8, I'm tired of pop-up ads. I've disabled notifications in all apps except for calls and text messages. I still get this **bleep** ad with every message. I don't have any games, only work apps and other necessary ones. I Googled it and it says "press and hold an ad to display information about the app that's sending the ad." There's nothing like that when I press it. I only have options to copy, open, and share. Please advise. Samsung S24 Ultra
First, I'm sure you have a carrier locked phone because Samsung does not push any ads or apps to you. With that being said, the best way to figure out what is producing Those ads is to download the "Good Lock" module "nice catch" . It's pretty self-explanatory from there.
Why is everyone defending One UI? I didn't install anything before or after this update. Ads started appearing after installing the update. It seems like everyone else is having the same problem. Maybe the update is the problem?
I have SM-S928U phone, and since update to UI 8.0 and Android 16 I get popups on every notification, that arrives. I've tried to disable notifications on many apps, cleared cache and data for browser apps, ex. Chrome, Firefox focus, Samsung browser. No luck. The annoying popups still show up. I am not completely sure, but when I used Android Studio to write my own Android App, and test development progress on my phone, the Android Studio might have changed some permissions on the Android OS. I've been using Android Studio when the phone had Android 14 on it. There were no issues on v 15 either. I've scanned my phone with MVT (Mobile Verification Toolkit) and AndroidQF (Android Quick Forensics) on Linux, and found some apps changed system permissions. The MVT only scans Android phone, files using public IOCS, so it is not possible to get details, what type of detections are present. Using MVT is a good start to see what's going on with the phone.
