Why, when those tools already exist and Bixby performs the functions it's supposed to?

Bixby is device control, leave the rest to the software biggies!

Why did would you want to use Bixby when Gemini exists. I think Samsung is leaning towards AI powered features, not chatbot. Use whatever is provided.

Here's a reason - I trust Samsung a lot more than Google when it comes to sharing my data. Samsung is primarily a hardware company, and Google is all about ads and data collection. Just saying...

LOLOLROFL!!.  You think that Samsung is not selling your data?  Anything that makes a company money is for sale. Read the TOS to see what they do with your data and get back to me.  You trust Chat GPT or *any* AI chatbot?  Using AI (from any company) opens you up to loss of privacy and data mining.  People are so inconsistent with their security concerns.

I trust you do not  use Alexa, a smart TV, X or Facebook.

Always happy to bring a little levity to one's day. Of course, you are correct, interacting with any product or service that doesn't explicitly prohibit the collection, storage, processing, and sharing of information beyond that which is strictly necessary to provide its intended functionality is a privacy risk. It's a question of degree.

Samsung's core business is manufacturing and marketing hardware, with its Mobile Experience division producing its greatest revenue. I like to think it's in Samsung's best interest not to alienate its customers by playing fast and loose with their data.

On the other hand, Google's core business is advertising accounting for close to 80 percent of its revenue. Users of Google services aren't their customers they are their product. It is in Google's best interest to collect as much user data as possible.

With respect to Bixby in particular, I've always liked its tight integration with Samsung hardware and apps as well as the ability to run it locally. I would much prefer adding additional functionality to Bixby rather than handing over the keys to Gemini.
