Galaxy S24My S24 Ultra just got the Android 15 update/upgrade, the Linux development environment is missing.
It should be an option under Developer options.
Could you all check if you have it?

Galaxy S24If the kernel is Android 14 kernel, it means that the advertised Android 15 upgrade is in fact just a revamp with UI 7.0 added on Android 14.
All 7 years of support will be like this? PR talk will not cut it.

Galaxy S24It's an Android 15 feature. This upgrade is clearly not Android 15 since kernel version is still Android 14.

Galaxy S24https://source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/kernel/android-common#compatibility-matrix
6.1 is supported under Android 15 for both launch devices and upgraded devices and is supported until 2029.

Galaxy S24Thanks for the info, noted.
It won't make me happier though.
The fact that the details are in the fine prints and an Android 15 (as we know it) supports the Linux Dev subsystem because we know it does BUT when it comes to a flagship of Samsung it actually doesn't.
I really don't care about the numbering of versions, what I care about is the features in the versions.
Android 15 was supposed to bring features, UI reshuffling and snake oil AI features will not make me love this situation.
So yeah, I better sell this S24 Ultra and get a Pixel or something to that effect where Android 15 will bring Android 15 features and not answers thrown from fine prints.
Kind of wasted a thousand bucks for Samsung, but lifetime lesson to avoid making same mistake again.
Enjoy your ONE UI 7.0 and your Android 15 (with older kernels).
Sorry, your answer does not qualify as a solution.

Galaxy S24the s24 ultra doesnt have the hardware to even handle the linux vm, the cpu needs to support virtualization and the kernel needs to have the vm sandbox patched into it, which require recompiling it, so your stuck with emulation

Galaxy S24I opened developer settings then just typed in linux and at the very bottom it was there. It was off by default.
