So i just did a quick share for some photos and a video to my S24U and it doesn't show up in the gallery pictures section but it does show in the albums section under quickshare album. Why is that?

Because it was a quick share transfer.  Transfer the photos into another album and they should show up in the pictures tab.

Wait hold on, I just noticed that it shows up in the gallery app pictures section, but its all the way down at july14,2024. And also when i search keyword"joe" nothing comes up. The search is usually very good at these things if the word is clearly stated on the thumbnail of the video or Pic. ALSO I noticed on discord it does show the quick share pictures which is the joe Rogan pics first but on other apps like Co pilot it doesn't show it at all, i have to scroll all the way down to that july14,2024 date. What date were the photos taken?

Well I assume that date but what about my other questions?

What other questions?  You only asked one. Certain albums are created automatically when pictures are added or downloaded, such as pictures from Facebook, Messages, Screenshots, WhatsApp, Quickshare, etc.  They get get sorted automatically in the pictures tab by the date taken (or added if there is no metadata for the date).  Within the album you can sort in whatever order you select, but "pictures" is always sorted by date created  (descending).  This sort order cannot be changed. You can search, but you can only search by terms that are contained in the metadata; so if your picture was titled John Smith, you would be able to search by John or Smith, or John Smith.  But, if your picture was titled something like S20251001.jpg, you would not be able to search by name.  You may be able to search by face - it depends what comes up in the search options when you hit the search feature.  You can search by type and, if you turn on "your tags" in the search settings, you can search by any tag you added to the photos.  For easiest access, though, it's likely best to keep your gallery in the album view tab and create your own albums by subject (or people) and move photos from the auto created albums into those albums.

Thanks, but your response doesn’t address the actual issue I’m reporting. This is not just about album sorting or metadata. It is about why search and image surfacing behave inconsistently across apps, even when the image clearly contains visible text.

Let me be specific.

When I use the Gallery app’s search function, it consistently finds images based on visible text. For example:

When I search the word "ghost," it correctly surfaces images of Ghost Rider, including ones where the full phrase "Ghost Rider" is visible on the thumbnail.

When I search the word "PC," it pulls up all my pictures of computers, setups, and memes with the word "PC" clearly shown on the image.

So the Gallery app does index visible text in some cases, whether through OCR or another method.

But when I search the word "joe," it fails to find the Quick Share image, even though:

The word "Joe" is clearly visible on the thumbnail

The image is stored in the Pictures section under July 14, 2024

The filename does not contain "joe," but that has not stopped search from working in other cases

Now here is the discrepancy across apps.

In Discord, when I open the image picker to share media, the Joe Rogan Quick Share image appears immediately in the recent media section, even though it is dated July 14, 2024.

In Copilot, when I try to access or share the same image, I have to scroll all the way down to that July 14, 2024 timestamp. It is not surfaced in recent media or search.

This proves that Discord is not relying solely on chronological sorting or metadata. It is likely using a recent access cache or Quick Share API hook that prioritizes recently received or shared media.

Copilot and Gallery are strictly chronological, and their search indexing fails to recognize visible text in this case, even though it works for "ghost" and "PC."

Please clarify the following:

Is OCR indexing applied to Quick Share images in the Gallery app

Why does Discord surface the image instantly, while Gallery and Copilot bury it under July 14, 2024

Why does search fail for "joe," when it works for "ghost," "PC," and other visible words

This is a clear inconsistency in how media is indexed and surfaced. If Quick Share images are excluded from OCR or search indexing, that is a design flaw. If Discord is using a different media access protocol, that needs to be acknowledged.

I am not asking for general album behavior. I am asking why this specific image is being mishandled by the search and indexing system.

None of that is what was asked in your original post or in its follow up.  One cannot address things that are not asked.  Search functions differ between apps because apps are developed by different teams and developers.  If the word "Joe" is not contained anywhere in the metadata or in the search indexes you allow in the search settings, it has no reference for the search. This is not unique to Samsung. Different platforms program their search functions differently, so you will not find consistency between Facebook, Discord, Google, etc.  In order for ANY search engine to find something, there must be reference criteria.  Unless "Joe" is somewhere in the photo's data, regardless whether it was transferred via quickshare or other means, it will not come up in a search.  If you downloaded photos from another source, in many cases, the metadata is stripped, other than the photo's title.  So, if you downloaded a video of Joe from their website, the title of the video may very well be something like PCAST33_20241001.  You would have to look at the information on the media and either edit, if you can or add tags so you can search by tag. Oh, and I do not believe that the search engine actually reads texts contained in photos.  Therefore one cannot search by watermarks or descriptions written on the photos.

That’s not accurate. I did ask about the search failure and the discrepancy between how Discord and Copilot surface the same image. You’re now claiming those weren’t part of the original post, but they were clearly stated in my follow-up. Let me reclarify:

1. Search Failure in Gallery App
When I search the word “ghost”, it finds images of Ghost Rider, even ones where the full phrase “Ghost Rider” is only visible on the thumbnail.
When I search “PC”, it finds all my computer-related images, including memes and screenshots with the word “PC” visible.
So the Gallery app does index visible text in some cases. That’s not metadata. That’s OCR or thumbnail-based indexing.
But when I search “joe”, it fails to find the Quick Share image—even though the word “Joe” is clearly visible on the thumbnail. That’s the inconsistency I’m reporting.

2. App Behavior Discrepancy
In Discord, when I open the image picker, the Joe Rogan Quick Share image appears immediately in the recent media section—even though it’s dated July 14, 2024.
In Copilot, I have to scroll all the way down to that date to find the same image. It doesn’t appear in recent media or search.
This proves that Discord is not relying solely on metadata or chronological sorting. It’s using a different indexing method—possibly recent access cache or Quick Share API hooks.
Copilot and Gallery are strictly chronological, and their search indexing fails to recognize visible text in this case, even though it works for “ghost” and “PC.”

3. Your Metadata Argument Doesn’t Hold
You’re saying “Joe” must be in the metadata or filename to be searchable. But that doesn’t explain why “Ghost Rider” and “PC” images are searchable when those words are only visible on the image itself.
If OCR is applied inconsistently, that’s a bug. If Quick Share images are excluded from OCR or search indexing, that’s a design flaw.
Also, this image wasn’t downloaded from a website. It was received via Quick Share. So your point about stripped metadata from downloads doesn’t apply here.

Please stop deflecting and address the actual issue:

Why does search work for visible text like “ghost” and “PC,” but fail for “joe”
Why does Discord surface the image instantly, while Gallery and Copilot bury it under July 14, 2024
Is OCR indexing applied to Quick Share images or not

This is not about general platform differences. It’s about a specific, reproducible inconsistency in Samsung’s Gallery app and how it handles Quick Share images. I’m asking for a technical explanation, not generalizations.

Fine.  You know everything.  Why ask the question?  If you are giving feedback, the place to do that would be the feedback link in the support tab of the Members app.
