After putting an eSim into my fully unlocked refurbished s24 base version how long until I get the update? I'm using AT&T

So does this mean that I will only get the update if I use those networks? Because I haven't gotten it up now even with an eSim I'm assuming I need a physical one now or I just wait and eventually the update will come. If I go back to Kenya and use my sim with the service provider there will I get the update or not

The service provider info will tell you which active physical SIM you need to install for you to get updates. If it is TMB, you don't need a SIM and I doubt it is since you're not getting updates. For AT&T and Verizon, you need a physical SIM. I am assuming you are connected to WiFi when checking for updates unless you have an unlimited 5G plan.

@danial1234 In phone settings -> About phone, what is the model name? 

If it ends in "U" it is a carrier device. It may be carrier unlocked but it is not a Samsung unlocked phone. In this situation your ability to get updates is going to depend on which carrier's firmware is currently on the phone and which carrier's SIM you last installed.

@danial1234 I see from your other posts that it is indeed a carrier device. I also see that you are in Kenya. I have no idea if you would be able to get to the update server from outside the US.

Yeah right now I'm not in Kenya but I bought my phone in the us, reasons for starting a new topic is because I keep getting different answers, some say I do need a sim some said i don't, I've got my sim, now how long until I get the update because I still haven't gotten it yet
