I have a Galaxy S24 and am experiencing a lot of frustration trying to use the numeric keypad to navigate phone trees. A lot of these automated phone answering systems do not recognize the DTMF codes that the keypad is suppose to be sending when a numerical key is pressed. However, sometimes it does work fine.
I have placed calls to places like hospitals and police stations that handle a lot of incoming calls without issues, but when I call those answering systems I get no response when I try to navigate their phone tree with the numeric keypad!
Is there some magic place that handles the configuration of the DTMF codes on my phone? What gives? How do I get my phone to function properly?
P.S. I found a LOT of people, on the internet, using this same phone or other Samsung phones having this same problems!
No, it's more than one phone answering system that I have troubles with, but it is not consistent. For example sometimes I can use my voice mail phone system and sometimes I cannot, i.e. sometimes it responds to numeric keys sometimes not. Same goes for other phone answering systems. But, for example my Dr's phone answering system never responds to the numeric keypad but always works with my wife's apple phone. That's why I thought there might be a setting somewhere that turns on or off DTMF.
Hmm today I am not having troubles with my voice mail using numeric keys with or without wifi calling turned on. Confusing because yesterday I couldn't do anything with voice mail, and I have not done anything to the phone except to recharge it.
I will turn the wifi calling feature off for now to see if that makes a difference on other phone answering systems, and get back to this forum later.
