I don’t think you can access the file system of the apps to get the sounds from them

You do not root apps. If the app manufacturer embedded the sound into one of their files, then no amount of rooting will get the sound file. You could reach out to the app manufacturer and see if they have the file available or google it to see if a fan has extracted or converted it to a usable format.
