EDIT (POSSIBLE FIX): I tested booting to Safe Mode and my buttons worked as expected. AND after rebooting normally they appear to be continuing to work! Try [booting to safe mode](https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003495/) and report back. I did appear to lose a number of widgets from my home screen after doing so but I was able to restore them from my Samsung account backup in the Settings menu, so you may want to make sure you have a recent backup before doing so. Good luck and please report back if this fixed it for you!

Just installed the One UI 7 update on my base S24 (Unlocked US) and my navigation buttons are not working correctly.

The navigation buttons show at the bottom but are largely unresponsive. If I repeatedly tap the Home or Recent Apps buttons they might eventually work once, but sometimes it seems like they flat out refuse all together. Holding the Home button also does not launch Circle to Search.

I use buttons instead of gestures, also use Good Lock NavStar and One Hand Operation+ for side gestures. I tried disabling both of those and no change.

I switched to gesture navigation and that seemed to be working fine, but switching back to buttons and same issue.

I've rebooted several times, wiped cache partition, force stopped and cleared cache on the One UI Home app and several other apps.

I currently have One Hand Operation+ turned back on so I at least have that navigation working but I hate the stock gestures so that's pretty much a no go for me.

Anyone else running into this?

Thanks! This UI 7 update was driving me crazy! The buttons worked in Safemode but not in normal mode and I could not figure out which program was causing the problem. Knowing that it is  Tasker AutoInput and getting the replacement apk from Jao Dias saved the day! A huge THANKS to all the people who contributed to this solution!

On Thursday (04.10.2025), I installed Android 15, UI 7 update, however my display 'Buttons' no longer as did while I had OS14 per the Navigation bar.

I have actually enabled buttons setting and then rebooted my phone multiple times, but will not work. Only 'Swipe Gestures ' work.

Can anyone help?

1. Check navigation settings again by going to Settings > Display.
2. Clear the cache partition by turning off your phone and pressing and holding the Volume Up and Power buttons.
3. Reset app preferences to resolve conflicts.
4. Check for system updates and re-enable navigation buttons.
5. Perform a factory reset if the issue persists. If the problem persists, report it to Samsung for a fix.

My navigation button issue was fixed after bringing the device into safe mode and back to normal mode.

THANK YOU! I also use good luck nav star and had the same issue. Safe mode followed by regular mode fixed it!

Starting in safe mode helps resolve the issue with the navigation button. You will lose the widget, but you can re-apply after it boots normally. Thanks for the helpful post.
