I am unable to change my messages to Samsung Messages

I am unable to change my messages to Samsung Messages. I went to the correct page, changed to Samsung, even restarted my phone, but nope. I have that pic of that girl sitting there, mocking me, telling me to change my default app to Samsung, which I did. What am I missing??? Thanks in advance.

Because you still choosing the google message app, so choose the Samsung app with the dots, if you don't have it then download from the store

Unable to download it from the playstore.because you press on download and there's something wrong with it won't download.

That is not Samsung Messages at the least for the moment Samsung Messages isn't available in neither Store or Play Store for the S24 Series (not sure about older phones) however it is available in the Store for the S25 Series with an update and RCS Messaging working for all carriers

Try going to settings > apps > default apps > set SMS to Samsung Messages

S24 has a built-in version, not the same independent version available on Flip6, Fold6, S25 series.

Samsung Messages is only available in the Galaxy Store, not in the Play Store. You should be able to download it there
