I used to be able to hold down the volume key and put it on silence to sleep. It doesn work now. Had the set the phone in a nother room. I can't turn it off because I need it for my alarm and a few contacts.

Does anyone know how to go back to ui6 or something

Settings > Sound and Vibration > Volume > Use Volume Buttons for Media > OFF

This will switch the default Volume button behavior from media volume to device Volume.

Additionally, you can change your sound mode by pulling down the quick settings panel from to top right corner of the screen.1758933271595.jpg

That is not a permanent fix.  You have to do the multi-stwp process every time

Fix this!

As for downgrading, there is no official method available for downgrading your device. It is not recommended that you attempt to do so by unofficial means as doing so could potentially brick your device.

You have sleep mode, do not disturb and sound and volume settings where you can mute all the sounds except alarms. You can create a routine, create a custom mode, or modify an existing mode.

You are being very rude and condescending, and I'm surprised you're ambassador of anything - bad PR for Samsung.

I'm a software engineer and I could even write an app to fix this, but I shouldn't have to. It's a feature used by millions and we should have had the option to keep it without installing something extra.

I understand that change can be frustrating. Personally, I had not noticed any change in the volume button behavior because I use my volume buttons strictly for media volume.

So, to make sure I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that the volume buttons used to allow you to set "silent," but now only allows you to set "vibrate?"

It seems that behavior is no longer available. If you are displeased by this, you can send feedback to Samsung via the support tab in this app.

To set silent mode, you can use the Quick Settings panel by pulling down from the top of the screen, OR you can use my preferred method and use Modes & Routines to automatically set your sound mode when specific conditions are met. 1758935289590.jpg
