So Samsung sent me a replacement for my hacked af s24 and over the last 24 hours it has went through 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, and 14.0 security software updates without me okaying them, not at all following the sheduler thing, and the last two without me even knowing. Now it wants to do security update 15.0. I've been running android 14 and One UI 6.1 the entire time.
The phone is updating itself to the latest security updates. You don't have to OK them, they will install automatically. They have to be installed in turn, depending on how many updates were not given to the new phone. If 5 updates were missed, you will get 5 updates. I would think, that as someone who has experienced hacking, you would want your phone to be secure. Just let the updates happen.
I do want it secure, very badly, but spyware was on one of my devices disguised as a system update, so I'm cautious. I went through 3 devices, one tablet and two A42s, last year alone. One only lasted two weeks. I think we've finally gotten our wifi secure, but that hasn't lasted long so far, so we'll see. I've got unlimited data, so I don't plan to ever put my new S24 on wifi at all.
