Since November 7th I started having issues with getting notifications for GV. I do not get notifications for sms from GV but I get them from Google messenger. My wife has S21 and the same version of the GV app.
It seems to be related to UI 8 and android 16.
I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, reset all apps permissions and still can't get it to work. Anyone else is having issues with buggy UI 8. My battery is not great either after UI 8 upgrade. I used to get over 3 days of battery life and now it is about 1.5 to max 40 hours.
Did you clear your cache partition after the update? If not, it is recommended to do that to clear up app issues. I will download gv and see, but they don't support sms, as it's a VOIP app. You can text messages but it isn't sms to my understanding.
Sorry to hear that, and, yes, I can receive notifications. You could email the Gv developer found in the store info page for the app. You could try to disable the option to receive the messages on your web Google Messenger and see if the phone will receive the notification. How are you using Google Messenger it's not available anymore I thought.
