Hello Samsung Community,

Iโ€™m experiencing an issue with my Galaxy S24 Ultra that started immediately after the December 26 software update.

Issue description

  • The phone randomly reboots .

  • The issue only occurs when Wi-Fi is enabled.

  • When I turn Wi-Fi off and use mobile data only, the phone works normally and does not reboot.

  • Reboots appear random (not tied to heavy usage or temperature).

Troubleshooting already done

  • Full firmware reflashed using Odin with HOME_CSC

  • Battery health, temperature, and voltage appear normal

  • Issue still persists after reflashing

Important observation

  • Reboots do not occur on mobile data

  • Reboots only occur when connected to Wi-Fi

Additional notes

  • This issue did not exist before the December 26 update

  • Logs show clean restarts (no kernel panic or ANR)

  • Wi-Fi networks tested are stable and work fine with other devices

At this point, Iโ€™m trying to understand whether this is:

  • A known issue with the December 26 update

  • A Wi-Fi firmware / power management bug

  • Or something that requires hardware service or replacement

Has anyone else with an S24 Ultra experienced similar behavior after the December update, especially related to Wi-Fi causing restarts?

Any guidance from Samsung moderators or users would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you for responding. Yes, I have confirmed that it is turned off. The device reboots randomly sometimes twice within an hour and the issue occurs only when connected to Wi-Fi. When using cellular data, the problem is not observed.

Have you tried booting into safe mode to see if there's any difference in behavior when using Wi-Fi?

I've had issues where it'll state that something had stopped working and then shortly after, it'll restart. Just yesterday it occurred 3 times in a row within 15 minutes. I hadn't paid attention if it was only when I was wifi though. It just only started to this after the update. Also, I have a Samsung S24+.

Hey Nmcloud! Welcome to the community! I love my Galaxy S24 Ultra and would be frustrated if it was rebooting. Letโ€™s get this situated for you as soon as we can.

First I would reboot your Router and Modem to ensure the Wi-Fi itself isn't causing this. If that is not the case, I recommend giving this link a shot: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshoot/TSG10001548/

If this does not help I recommend letting a service technician have a look. As we would like to gather additional information, and look at this from a case by case basis, please provide the full model code and IMEI number of the device as well as your best contact phone number, name, and email.
