We've had several tornado warnings this past week and I'm not receiving the sound notification for them. I checked my settings and they are all allowed (with a loud sound notification) but you can see from the screenshot from the most recent alert in notification history that they are marked as silent with the area unable to be interacted with. Anyone know how to change this?

@3Fees That must only show on carrier devices. The factory unlocked devices I have don't have anything like that.

I have an unlocked A54 and the WEA app shows in my apps list without having to enable show system apps. This is what I see when I check the notification settings

Must be carrier specific. My unlocked devices using UI7 and AT&T service do not have it.

It's that way on my backup device (1S10 lite) which is running on OneUI5.1/Android 13 and currently has no carrier.  Also a factory unlocked phone.  My A54 has not had the update yet, so perhaps the settings did change in OneUI7, although I cannot imagine why they would; but I'm not in the brain trust at Samsung development.

Those options don't show for me either. To get to the Wireless Emergency Alerts screen I have to hit Advanced Settings under Notifications. Once there, there is no option to show system apps. I looked through the apps listed where you said to find them, even did a search in case I missed it, but there is nothing for emergency weather notifications.

Then, it's time to put in a request to the Chairman and state the necessity. It could be a program glitch. Mine is 6.1 BTW.

One UI 7 Notification changes and enhancements

Live notifications: Get real-time updates for notifications that require immediate attention, like a stopwatch or voice recording. To change this feature, navigate to and open Settings, then tap Lock screen and AOD. Tap Now bar, tap View more, and then turn on the switch next to your desired app to enable Live app notifications.

Try these adjustments

I looked and the option for WEA isn't there. There is this at the very bottom, but again there is no way to adjust the settings other than turning on the notifications... No way to change how it behaves on the lock screen, etc.1748654215195.jpg

The best thing I've learned thus far is that maybe you have your phone on silence or vibrate for phone calls, which forces system notifications to do the same which *might* be why the emergency alerts are silent. But I turned my sound up earlier this year and it still didnt work for a Flash Flood or Amber alert, so idk. 90mph winds this morning that my phone knew about at 5am and kept it all to itself. ๐Ÿ˜•

I should note I'm using an S22 w/ UI 7

Can try Samsung over the phone and see what they can add to this or solve it.
