Differences in the two notification snooze options?

On my phone, two of the options I have when viewing a notification are snooze (literally a button labeled "Snooze"), and a bell icon with a small clock.

The Internet mainly says they are both ways the snooze option could be displayed. When I click "snooze", the notification simply disappears and seems to reappear in an hour. There is no option to change the timing anywhere, even in the phone settings. Clicking the bell icon gives me the time duration choices that I've read about in the Internet before doing the same thing.

Is there a difference between the two notification options or not?

Same here actually. However, I just bought this new phone so I'm trying to learn as much about as I can. ๐Ÿ˜…

In fact, my phone came with an option to add a screen boarder flash with notifications (the rainbow colored band around the edge of my screen in the pic). I've turned it on by preference in case I'm too busy on my phone to bother. It comes with two other choices.

I had noticed earlier in the app store that there is an app to add that capability with lots of choices to choose from.1754878657869.jpg

That's the edge lighting. Unfortunately, I found that It only flahes once and does not continue to flash or stay lit, so it would be useless unless one was looking at the phone at the time. Of couse, the non repeat could only be on my end, I havent really don extensive testing.

Ah... That's why I've set my "Time to take action" setting to 10 seconds. A bit annoying, but there's no way I could miss it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now that I've thought about it some, I'm beginning to wonder if the second snooze button (perhaps the the "snooze" one) is actually from the app, the source of the notification. The notification I first observed this is for an email app that has the additional feature to snooze any emails (1 hour is the first preset option). Snoozing an email in that app will make the email disappear from the inbox, and reappear after the snooze time with notification included.

Well, after seeing a few more other notifications, it is seeming to be more this case of the second snooze belonging to the app.

From what I've seen so far, most other notifications may not have an option labeled "Snooze". However, the bell icon is always present as the last option on the right, and is the one that provides the choice of snooze durations.

The Reminder app has an option to add repeats when creating a reminder. The notification for that app does come with an extra "snooze", but on the opposite side of the notification. Clicking that "snooze" brings up the message that the "reminder" will repeat in 15 minutes.
