After Samsung broke my phone with the ui7 update I figured the ui8 couldn't surprise me. I hate being wrong. Now my phone with 1 sim card thinks it has 2. I have 2 notification sounds and ringtones. The first one it is set to that it used for a few days and no longer uses are ringtones and notification sounds that are no longer an option on my sounds lists. Furthermore, the phone started using the correct sounds after Samsung, Verizon, and the federal government (who has malware intentionally installed on my phone) had been in the phone and said they can't fix it. Woke up the next day and its making the correct noises. Honestly I think someone may have gotten into the phone via one of the security holes ui7 had but ignoring that, there are other issues. My phone charging get worse every update. I can't use my type c to charge at all since ui7. Wireless will connect and disconnect several times for random amounts of time before it starts consistently charging. The DND feature when it updated did actually block anything. And to top it all off apps that have no notification privileges on the notifications tab, have notifications on when you view the app info from the app's icon at the top of the window when looking at open apps. I have received notifications from apps that aren't allowed to. Basically, every update Samsung seems to say what choices did this guy make we can change making him have to make the same choices over again. To make this worse, Samsung says the fix is to reset all app permissions but the federal government would imprison me for this since the court don't allow it with me. So I am left with 0 options available to fix this because Samsung seems to have dug its heels into they just want drone users who accept every update and just go with it. I honestly want a refund on my phone and compensation for my time spent trying to fix their problems. But figured I would put the problems here in the hopes that people who don't work for Samsung and that actually care about tech working as intended might have work arounds for a sandboxed phone that cannot do the troubleshooting Samsung says is the only fix. (and they aren't even 100% sure it will fix it!)

Galaxy S24Okay, lets try again bullet style.
Samsung says my phone thinks it has 2 sim cards. The symptoms of this are 2 notification sounds and 2 ringtones.
I.E. under ringtone it currently says fun/circus. I want it to ring circus but when the update happened it would ring fun.
Fun is no longer a choice of a ringtone. Notifications has the same problem.
Samsung, verizon, and the federal government (for individual reasons not an investigation) were all in the phone attempting to fix it and left the problem as it would ring fun and the ringtone I can interact with under the ringtones menu would only change circus, the one that would not ring.
Without anyone taking any actions my phone now makes the noises I want it to but still has the same appearance under ringtone and notifications.
Unrelated to the above, the do not disturb feature does not stop notifications.
The notifications menu under settings does not stop apps from sending notifications now. They can be turned off and the app will still send them.
My phone is sandboxed as part of me getting in trouble in the past so resetting the app permissions, which samsung said would fix the above issues is not an option. It would reset the programs I am not legally allowed to mess with. So I am left with no option as how to fix the issues.
Hopefully this is clearer. Sorry about the ADHD and stream of consciousness above.
I am reaching out here in the hopes someone has a better option than what I am not allowed to do.
Its just a base S24.
Also as a side note, also experiencing the type c port does not charge the phone at all.
Also experiencing connecting and disconnecting when wireless charging for several minutes before it will steadily charge.

Galaxy S24Seems after another support call the phone is still trying to update itself and keeps failing. It says android 16 and ui8 but the system is still trying to do something.
Also, calls do not always come through. Sometimes they just go to voicemail for no reason.

Galaxy S24Under software update it keeps failing to update and says error code 556. A search reveals nothing as to this codes meaning to me.
The phone appears to be trying to update but just won't do it due to this failure.

Galaxy S24Latest update.
Still paying the phone off but verizon doesnt warranty it.
Samsung only gives a 1 year warranty and thats up.
Samsung does not warranty anything that happens to your phone from one of their updates.
If your are not able to do a factory reset in the hopes it fixes it, you have to pay out of pocket to have a store do it.
Thats the only option left to me.
