I must voice my opinion....
The change that Samsung made by shrinking the contact profile pictures to a small tiny image that can I can barely read is kinda sad to me. I would usually put business card images there and I was able to read them, see their pictures and nice artwork on the cards and it was great for nanny years like that.
I wish Samsung could bring back the larger size profiles. It appears there's a large amount of room at the top for it.
Does anyone agree? š

Thursday in
Galaxy S24@Jitter There is a setting to change the size of the profile picture.
- Open the phone app
- Click the 3 dot menu and select Settings
- Click on Caller information
- Click on Profile picture size and choose Large

When I did that I already had it on large. Sometime in 2023 the image was much larger and they changed it to this small circle.

With the introduction of the Now Bar in the upcoming One UI 7 release, I want the Now Bar to remind users in advance when an important date nears. Here is an example:
ā¢ More than 100 hours: "X Days"
ā¢ Less than 100 hours: "HH:MM:SS"
ā¢ Below Upcoming Alarm Notification Threshold: Turn the countdown red
Once the countdown reaches 00:00:00, the alarm will go off, and the alerts will be shown. Is there a way to use both for the profile picture size?!
ā¢ Small: The profile picture will be used. Alerts will be pop-up notifications.
ā¢ Large: The profile card background will be used instead. Alerts will be full screen.
Keep in mind that the profile card does not need to be the same as the main profile picture.

May I ask what phone you are using that gives you a view like that? And also that it gives you a countdown, though I'm not clear on the use of the countdown in a call

I'm not sure I fully understand. But the part I do seems to be only for incoming calls and messages but what I'm talking about is the view I have from just looking at my contact in contacts and in recent call list when tapping on it. This view was changed in 2023 to what it is now from a much bigger and arguably a more pleasing view of the contact picture. I'm just saying it didn't make sense why they would change it to be so small when it was not only perfect before but now there's so much extra space not utilized. Doesn't make sense

And I wish they would make it bigger, much bigger like before they changed it. And they certainly can, at least from my vantage point. I hope they listen

Okay yea! I figured it out! I'm proud of myself šŖ.
So the answer is in the selection of Profile Card in edit. See see a attached sample.
It copies what's in the small circle and puts in that large 1/3 or 1/4 top part which is far better than what I could ask for!
Thank you Samsung for that change i didn't know about š
I did experiment with Profile Card when I first started playing around with the new phone. At that point I had put in a business card as the contact picture as I always had and when I went to profile card o selected just the background color, but when I did that the business card disappeared and I freaked out because I did that a long time ago and didn't think I had the card anymore. Fortunately after some time looking I found it. From now on I'm going to make sure I select the contact picture or business card in both places. š
This may help others too because at least for me it's not that clear what's what
