When i try to take at least 3 video's my camera app crashes. The screen freezes and the phone gets warm. A reboot makes the device cooler again and the camera works initially, but after a few times trying to record video the problem comes back.

If I use Whatsapp the camera screen freezes directly.

I reset the device, and tested the camera multiple times. It doesn't crash anymore.

I recover my Google account and install 90+ apps from the backup. The camera crashes again when trying to take at least 3 video's....

Then I tried to boot in safe mode: the camera works normal again, testing 10+ video recordings, it keeps working, stable.

So the problem is with some kind of app. But I didn't installed any new apps last days. Didn't had this problem before.

Only thing I did today was updating a lot of apps in Play Store.

Also, since a day I get the notification "Refining picture", sometimes it goes away after a few sec, sometimes not.

How can I find out which app is causing this problem?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do it. You have to start deleting apps and testing. When you delete the app causing it, you won't experience the issue. Then you will know that is the app.

I found the problem!

I'm still using iTunes to manage my local mp3 library. With iSyncr I can sync my playlists to Android and listen to it in Poweramp. After every sync, little or big, the Media Storage App needs to re-scan the files. During that scan the camera app is working buggy. I guess it cannot write new video's while scanning.

It's the first time I used the camera so quickly after iSyncr, that's the reason. I need to give it some time. That's why the device gets so warm btw, in total I have 30 GB mp3's.

Didn't had this problem on my previous Xiaomi phones. Samsung is handeling it a bit different.

Thank god I don't need to send it to Samsung for repair! ❤️
