Hello all, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue. After updating to One UI 6.1.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Utra, I noticed that the sound from my phone noticeably came out worse in comparison to before updating to One Ui 6.1.1, either in phone-speaker mode or output mode like Bluetooth or Headphones. I can describe the sound as muddy, tiny with less clarity and bass. I've tried every setup in the equalizer, turning Dolby Atmos on and off... everything but none of those helped. This really affects my overall experience and honestly leads to big disappointment. For now, I encourage users who are having the same issue to report it to Samsung as soon as possible so that they can address this issue and fix it in the next update. Thank you!

I have the exact same issue. Less clarity, less bass, very muddy. It is imperative that they fix this issue, otherwise I'll have to sell and move on.

Seriously, I'd been satisfied with my S23 Ultra's speakers since I'd bought it and I'm a music lover. Were very bassy, loud and clear. Now after the update, sounds like I'm listening to radio instead, even when connected to Bluetooth devices or earphones. Samsung disappointed me a lot this time which had never happened before. I'll patiently wait till the next update. If not fixed then, I may think about switching to other brands.

I just got the october patch, and the audio quality is still horrible, yet the camera zoom is fixed.

@PockyDucky Oh wow so im not experiencing the muddy sound, my main issue is the media volume decrease, but yes ive noticed the less clarity and bass as well..when i play my music on my Bluetooth in the car the volume is extremely low i did the same thing with the equalizer adjustments and dolby still nothing i even tried increasing the media volume limit slider which not only doesnt work with increasing or decreasing the media volume in general but it doesn't allow u to use it while in Bluetooth mode when i go to increase the slider it literally DECREASES the volume adjustment and displays a message saying "we are decreasing the ur volume to avoid causing damage to ur hearing" or something like that so it won't allow it to play at a higher level smh...however i didn't notice when the change took effect after the update or not i just thought something was wrong with my phone i knew it was something wrong when I connected an old phone to the Bluetooth and played music and had to actually adjust the radio volume cuz it played so loud...has anyone heard of any updates from samsung on this issue yet or not? This is just ridiculous u would think that with all the money we dish out for these phones we should be able to adjust any and everything to our liking šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā™€

Yeah, that's what happened to me when I played music in my car connected with my phone too, I immediately noticed something wrong with the sound in both quality and volume. Then now my phone's speakers sound like the phones back in the old days with no bass and less clarity. I paid so much money for my personal phone just to experience something publicly failed by the own manufacture? And even if they think this new sound is a public favor, did they even think about us? It's not only ridiculous, it's stupidity at its finest. Now I'll just keep reporting this issue to them until it gets fixed or if not, no more Samsung devices for me, I've been tired of my frustration!!!

Amen!!! And that's exactly my point when it comes them making it seem like they care for ppls hearing, they clearly didn't care for my hearing cuz i love my music playing as loud as it can go and clearly they did NOT have those who are "hard of hearing" in mind smh plus it make NO SENSE that they felt like THAT FEATURE needed an adjustment so itll help lower the risk of hearing damge when PEOPLE CAN CONTROL the volume themselves so if ppl are experiencing hearing issues THATS THEIR OWN FAULT šŸ˜† like whoooo sat around in that upgrade conference meeting and thought this adjustment needed to be made so ppls hearing aren't at risk due to the media volume of our phones like WHAAATTT?? make it make sense for me somebody please...and ok i understand wut ur saying now regarding the muddy sound i thought u were saying that was happening only when listening to it on the Bluetooth or headset...now i can say that hasn't happened with mine YET but give it time im.suuuurree ill be updating u with the news lol cray thing is my phone actually plays louder thru its own speaker than it does on the Bluetooth speakers go figure šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€

Thanks! Hope for the best that they'll do something to solve this problem completely. In the meantime, we can encourage anyone who are having the same issue to post or report this issue as much as possible. We must be taking this seriously and so as Samsung!

@PockyDucky @thethrasher89 what aggravates me the most is now i gotta keep my OLD **bleep** LG Stylo phone in the car so when i wanna play my music i can play it on that phone but then i gotta connect it to my hotspot from my galaxy and then connect it to the Bluetooth smh its ashame that a 4 year old less quality brand phone works better than a brand new Samsung Galaxy phone now im starting to second guess getting the S24 wuts the point of the upgrade if it has the same issue as the downgrade šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€
