Galaxy S23I'm trying to set up my old s23 Ultra for my mother and after I factory reset everything it appears that a lot of the apps that I had on the phone prior to the big update are no longer available. One of the main apps that I am trying to get back are the Samsung messages but I guess it's no longer available on Samsung s23 but somehow available on my s25? Make it make sense Samsung!!! What is going on with you?! Why are you becoming the enemy after we have supported you for so long 🥲 now I regret factory resetting my phone because I could have kept those apps. Now I'm going to have to try to find a APK 😭 Samsung has to listen to all the complaints about all the updates!!!!! PLEASE!

Galaxy S23Samsung messages is hot garbage. And I thought it was your mom who would be using it. Google messages is far superior to Samsung messages.

Galaxy S23I seriously do not understand the objection to using Google Messages, is it because it can't use themes? It certainly cannot be because it's a Google App, as that would not explain why you bought a Google run device.

Galaxy S23Bah, themes. I prefer my apps to be functional, and Google has some limited themes - fine for me. Also, messaging apps are just shells like mail reader apps. Except for some specific features, they all operate the same way.

Galaxy S23Pretty is more important than functionality with those that have Iphones I will never understand this.
You won't be able to have RCS with people using Iphones.

Galaxy S23On the YT j. Springer. If SM has RCS. It works RCS w/iphones. He made several videos and showed it. If i can get mine to work. I will 100% test with my iPhone contacts.
Hope you had a good day .

Galaxy S23Am I the only one who sees the irony in this statement:
"yeah my reasoning is it cannot use themes and I don't like switching if the app is already working fine."
Yet your mother's device HAD Google messages on it, which was working fine, and you removed it in favor of a different app...

Galaxy S23Me neither. I'd rather have my apps work the way I want them to. Pretty is a bonus.
