Samsung Messages RCS feature- CHAT SETTINGS?

Looks like Chat or RCS is coming back. Watch the video in the link below. Im on s23 Ultra but was able to download it but once you make Samsung messages default from Google messages it goes away

So are you saying you left Google as the default and then just use Samsung instead?

So when I got the apk file and installed it, you know how it gives you the option to make it make it default. I bypassed it or said no, and I was able to turn chat on but can not use it unless samsung message is the default, but then that setting goes away. The video shows him using S25 and was working fine and on different carriers. But it seems like samsung message is brewing something up and bringing it back. Maybe they are listening to us. Just the simple fact of having custom categories for my messages is key, or being able to use my default apps with samsung messages is vital for me. We are not Pixel users. We are Samsung Knights, lol

So it appears that Samsung Messages will use Google's RCS network now. This is great news. Google's app has a couple of features that I like, but overall I prefer Samsung's app.

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and unfortunately, when i make samsung messages, the default chat features go away. I must have a glitch. Hopefully, a fix will be available soon.

I have a Samsung galaxy s23 ultra and I don't see it. I used to have it tho. And yes I updated the app a couple of hours ago

Sorry bad English. I still have the phone. I meant that I used to see that feature (RCS) a couple of years ago and the it disappeared. Upon checking i still don't see that feature perhaps it will be there once one UI 7 release for the S23 ultra

That's what I'm thinking, too. Just have to wait. In the video, he said the Galaxy store has samsung messages, not Google Play Store.
