S23 ultra camera continues to fail

Has anyone else had this issue. I can hardly use my camera on my phone anymore. I tried restarting and force stopping my phone.

Hello Jcheadle11, welcome to the Samsung Community! I understand your frustrations with your camera app not working correctly. I see you stated that you have already tried restarting and force stopping your device. You can clear the cache of the camera app by going to settings, apps, camera, storage, clear cache. You can clear your device cache partition by turning off your device, hold the power and volume up buttons together, once the Samsung logo appears release the power button while continuing to hold the volume up button, one the menu appears use the volume button to select clear cache partition and reboot your device.

I'm having this issue now after the last update. I've done a hars reset, factory reset cleared the cache force stopped the app and either get a black screen, camera failed, or a message saying the app can't be opened when being used elsewhere.

My camera only allows me to take selfies. When I attempt to use the back camera, it says camera failed, or can't use while allowing another app access or just a black screen. Tech did a remote in, and downloaded an app that allows me to use my front camera, but is no where near as good as the the original. This issue only happened after the last update, and obviously, if I can use the camera on another app, its not the camera. I didnt spend all this money to have a phone that only works somewhat. Please fix this Samsung. Before I have to take my business to Apple.

I'm guessing they did a software fix anyway if you run the diagnostic test properly tell you what you know but atleast you can verify it when submitting feedback

I ran a diagnostic 3 times. 1st 2 people just told me to take it in, the last uploaded a different camera app. No issues until the last update. My phone is always in an otter box and never gets wet. It's their update. I'm pretty irritated that I have the best phone camera technology, but getting pics that are Nokia quality bc I can't use the app

Even though you have a OB case (OtterBox) you still could have broken the camera inside, maybe you can't see it.
Might need to go in person to a repair shop that is authorized by Samsung.

I've never dropped it, and the camera works on a downloaded app, so the camera isn't broken.

Maybe a software thing. Try resetting your phone, and make sure to back up your data. Only if you want.
