I got my s23 ultra at the end of October this year. I noticed that when I record on the camera app the audio is noticeably quieter than my previous phone (Samsung a53). I mostly use my recordings for concerts, which my a53 recorded a lot louder than my s23 ultra currently does. Of course distance from the audio source can play a role in it but at the same distance my a53 still records sound louder
I know that the s23 ultra is a lot better in quality than the a53, thats why I bought it. Other apps record fine (ex: voice recording) so I don't think its a hardware issue. There's no noticeable distortion/muffling when recording which leads me to believe that this is just a feature on the phone, but clarification would be very appreciated

Galaxy S23They'll deny it, but they did something to mess with the sound volume and quality with OneUI7 and did not correct it in 8. There are a lot of people complaining about this. Please put in an error report. The more error reports they get, the more likely they are to address the issue.

Galaxy S23The only way that you can really change this now is if you were to root your device and go into the system itself and raise that decibel rating and or use a third party program afterwards which will then raise your volume to the max that I can do I forget What program does it but it's icon on the Play Store is a pink V I used to use it years ago to do this and raise volume just because I happen to be hard of hearing...
But yeah there's nothing that Samsung can do about it it's literally just a law that's baked into the telecommunication **bleep** in the United States
