Galaxy S23
Something tried to download on my phone. MY phone is set to Do not allow downloads from unknown sources, so the download was denied. If I get a new phone and do the samsung switch, is whatever that
program was that tried to download on my phone, is this lurking inside my phone somewhere? Would it also transfer over during a samsung switch?

Hard to say without knowing what it is. To be safe, the next time you get a new phone, set up the phone and just log into your Gmail account on the new phone (make sure your Gmail acct on old phone is backed up). Sign in to Gmail on the new phone and it will automatically bring over contacts and photos. You can always download apps. This way, whichever app is trying to download on the old phone, won't be on the new one.
