Galaxy S23This has been an ongoing problem for about a year. Other threads regarding this topic on this platform are marked as "resolved" by samsung but it is not resolved. I test printed today 1/29/25 and i still got a black background with white text. My s23 ultra and my husband's s23+ both printed normally for months after we first got our phones. Then the phones updated and we could no longer print normally. My daughters s24 is also affected. Our phones have updated at least 4 times since the problem began.
Our printer is a Dell mfp e514dw. No problems printing from our laptop. Phones are not in dark mode when printing.
The temporary solution is to use a 3rd party app to print from phones. We use EZeep blue and it works fine but with limited options like no page range. It's not ideal, can't just hit the print button on a document. Have to open the app then choose the file.
We've been longtime samsung people, since note 4 model. This is not something I would expect to happen with this trusted manufacturer and top phones. I trusted that the issue would be resolved in time and am shocked that it isn't. I can't believe that samsung has just arbitrarily stated on these threads that it has been resolved. Obviously they are not testing their fixes. I'm not a person who typically posts on blogs or anywhere really. That's how disgusted I am.
Maybe it's time to give apple a try when we're ready to upgrade....
Update: My phone received an update just hours after I made this post. I was hopeful that this would be the fix. Sadly, the problem persists.

Galaxy S23Are you using the default, generic print service or the Dell print service? Check in connections, more connection settings, printing. If you see multiple print services enabled, enable only one. If it is currently set to the Dell print service, turn it off and turn on the default print service. You can also tap the text on "Default Print Service" to download a different print service engine. It may be that Dell has not updated the print service engine. If Dell does not have a print service installed, and you are already using the default print services, try clearing the cache partitions on your phones (although I doubt it's a cache problem if all the phones are affected).

Galaxy S23- Dell does not have a print service. Didn't need it before the problem began anyway. Tried clearing cache when the problem began, didn't work and I shouldn't have had to even mess with that anyway. Most people would not know how to do that. Thanks for your response and trying to help.

Galaxy S23Even if it's Samsung's problem to fix, they can't/won't fix it without submission of an error report, rather than a post on a user forum. Until they fix it, however, it does not hurt to switch print services. The fact that "most people would not know how to do that" is precisely why forums like this exist. You need a workaround until Samsung fixes the issue. Switching the print service might be the workaround.

Galaxy S23OP clearly states phones are not in dark mode. Frankly, it shouldn't even matter if they are. If that's a problem, then Samsung needs to fix that as well.
